Construction Schedule
After driving around post, you may have noticed that the housing privatization program at Fort Meade is far along. This is because Fort Meade is almost complete its initial development period (IDP), which is the construction phase of our 50 year contract with the Army.
To date, the partnership has built 856 new homes and has completed more than 1400 renovations to homes that were originally built by the Army. We are excited to share with you our plans for the 2011 - 2012 year! Our plan is broken down in two phases. Phase one will encompass road and parking improvements throughout the neighborhoods and 190 roof replacements in Midway Common, Patriot Ridge and Potomac Place. Work to complete this phase has already begun.
Phase two will consist of 304 porch additions to homes in Potomac Place, 52 combination renovations in Midway Common, 308 major renovations to homes in Patriot Ridge, and 661 additional roof replacements in the Midway Common, Patriot Ridge and Potomac Place areas. Last but certainly not least, we are most excited to share with you the addition of one last Neighborhood Center in Patriot Ridge! The new Neighborhood Center will serve Patriot Ridge families and is proposed to be located on the corner of Ernie Pyle Road and Macarthur Road. The timeline for the construction of phase two is still being determined. Please check the Soundoff! and your monthly newsletter for more up-to-date information.
